Scope and content: Proclamations and messages or speeches that were issued to the State Legislature and/or to the general public by the Kansas Governor. They are usually in the form of newspaper clippings, typed originals, or carbon copies of the typed original. Earlier volumes include handwritten versions that might have been used as rough drafts for the printed and signed copies. Also sometimes included are executive orders and writs of election.
