Abstract: Projects undertaken by high school students over a number of years at the Topeka West High School, documenting various famous individuals, places, events, and organizations in the state. Topics include actors such as Kirstie Alley and Gordon Jump, writers such as William Inge, politicians such as Alf Landon and Dwight Eisenhower, industrialists such as Walter Chrysler, and other figures such as Amelia Earhart and Emmet Kelly. Other topics include the Ku Klux Klan, Little Russia, Auburndale, correctional facilities, Chautauqua, etc. Materials mostly consist of slides, reel to reel tapes, and film, though there are other media as well as paper materials in the collection.
