Scope and Content

Scope and content: These two letters, dated July 28th, 1885 and March 19th, 1887, are from Haskell Wood and George Ropes, both the State Architect, regarding the architecture of the Kansas State Capitol to Kansas Governor John Martin. Wood discussed what to do to fix the damage caused by storms on the North and East wings of the Capitol building. Ropes succeeded Wood in the State Architect position. Ropes discussed the Board of the State House Commission and asked Martin for protection from and to appeal to them.
