Scope and content: These letters, spanning 1887, are from the Senate, Martin Allen, Morris Collar, and other individuals regarding the Forestry Commissioner position to Kansas Governor John Martin. The Senate passed a bill that created a new position, the Forestry Commissioner. Most of the letters are from individuals recommending Martin Allen, Morris Collar, F. W. Colby, Fred Collins, or S. C.
