Scope and content: These letters, spanning October 17 to 18, 1888, are from the residents and offices of Wilson County, Kansas regarding the county surveyor to Kansas Governor John Martin. The letters endorse A. McKimmey as the new county surveyor with a signed petition. Wilson County was one of the original 33 counties organized by the Territorial Legislature in 1855, organized on September 24, 1864, and named for Hiero Tennant Wilson.
