Scope and content: These letters, spanning March through April 1886, are from Labette County Kansas sheriffs, government officials, railroad companies, residents of Parsons, Labette County, Kansas, and Knights of Labor of America regarding the Missouri Pacific Railroad Strike to Kansas Governor John Martin. They wrote asking for aid (i.e.- a militia), explaining conditions, and the removal of militia. Among the letters, there are addresses to employees, strike proclamations, and multiple petitions from citizens either asking for aid or about the effects and desired results of the strike.
