Virtual - Heritage Trust Fund Grant Workshop
The Kansas Historical Society will hold a virtual Heritage Trust Fund (HTF) grant review committee. All grant applicants are invited to attend this public meeting. Each applicant is welcome to appoint one spokesperson to address the committee for up to 3 minutes per application. Applicants are encouraged to remind the grant committee of the urgency of their project, the benefit their project will have to the community, and update the committee on any changes to the project plans since the application was submitted. Committee members may ask questions of the applicant.
The report of the grant review committee will be heard by the Historic Sites Board of Review at their quarterly meeting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023 – also via Zoom. All applicants will be notified of the Board's decisions in the week following the Board meeting. Information will also be posted as soon as possible following the meeting to various social media sites and online.
The Heritage Trust Fund grant program funds projects for properties listed in the National Register of Historic Places or the Register of Historic Kansas Places. Qualifying expenses include professional fees and construction costs. Properties owned by the state or federal governments are not eligible. Individual grant awards may not exceed $90,000 and must be matched by the grant recipient. Applications for the 2023 grant round were due November 1, 2022.
