"A Real American Goes Hunting: William Allen White and the KKK in Kansas" - Beverley Olson Buller, author
One hundred years ago, William Allen White mounted a six-week campaign for governor as an independent to provide Kansas voters a candidate free from Klan influence. This presentation follows White's campaign across Kansas to deliver 104 speeches, all directed at expelling the KKK. Though he did not win, White's efforts led to a Kansas Supreme Court ruling that outlawed the Klan in Kansas.
