Kansas Preservation Conference

Call for Session Proposals

The Kansas State Historic Preservation Office is now accepting proposals for the 2025 Kansas Preservation Conference on May 7-9, 2025. The conference will be in Topeka, KS. The conference program committee invites proposals for session panels, lectures, on-site demonstrations, and other creative formats focusing on current issues in historic preservation.  Traditional sessions typically run about an hour. Please explain if you need more time. Selected session speakers will receive discounted registration.

The theme for the conference is Planning for the Future. Proposals will be given preference that address the following topics:

Professional/Technical:

Adaptive Use, AI, Imaging or Other Unique Documentation, Preservation Trades, and Climate resiliency

CLG and Main Street/Educational:

Equity and inclusion, Unique collaborations, Non-traditional Resources, and Unique public engagement

Evaluation criteria:
Proposals will be reviewed for relevance to the field of historic preservation, quality, and completeness of application.
