Introduction

Abstract

Farmer; of Shelton, Neb.  Family letters & written postcards, an advertisement, and a New Year’s greeting card relating to Perry Weston’s and parents’ stays at the Waconda Sanitarium, Waconda Springs, Kan., also known as Waconda Health Resort and Waconda Health Springs. The letters were sent by Perry and his parents to family members at home or Perry’s girlfriend and wife, Daphne Cook (Weston). They primarily describe the Sanitarium, patients, diet, treatments received, and activities; Perry also writes about farm work & activities at home and speculates about what the family is doing. Included are Christmas greetings sent to Perry and his parents by the Sanitarium.
